The Nabis

After the huge success of the exhibition dedicated to Mucha, Musee du Luxembourg presents another  exhibition which will certainly be as popular.

Entitled: The Nabis and the Decorative Arts, the installation is about the Nabis, a group of artists, who had the ambition to reveal a new art, as opposed as the impressionism, which they considered too close to reality. These young artists referred to themselves as "Nabis", a word that means "prophets" in both Hebrew and Arabic. They were mostly active between 1888 and 1900.

This exhibition, the first one dedicated to the decorative arts of the Nabis, presents beautiful pieces of art; I absolutely fell in love with the painting "Le corsage rayé", by Edouard Vuillard.

I would highly recommend this show. It's a fantastic opportunity to see some amazing art pieces for the first time and to learn more about this not so well-known movement.

Loved it. 💝💝💝
