Where to buy Turrón in Paris

Have you ever heard about Turrón? If you've been to Spain or Italy, you might have tasted this Southern European nougat made of honey, sugar and egg white, with either toasted almonds or hazelnuts, in the shape of rectangular tablet or of a round cake.

Personally, I love Turróns. It reminds me of my childhood. When I was a little girl, we used to drive down to the South of France, where we spent most of our holidays and we would always stop in Montélimar to buy some tasty nougat.

As an adult I don't like sweet things anymore but today as I walked past a window full of Turróns and nougats, I couldn't resist entering the shop and tasting what they had. The shop wasn't any shop. It was Vicens, the most famous manufacturer of Turróns, which has been making homemade Turróns since 1775.

Jeremy, the shop assistant was very helpful and patient as I asked a lot of questions about the different kinds of nougat. To tell the truth, they have so many creations, I just couldn't make up my mind. I finally chose a Turrón with more than 60% of almonds... and Yes. It is nice.

The shop is located behind Notre-Dame. So if you come to Ile-Saint-Louis do not hesitate to go and check what they have.

It can be a great idea if you are looking for a present too.
