2017 Advent calendars

Today, I wanted to share with you my favorite Advent calendars for 2017. So let's go. 👸

Liberty London 169£ (sold out)

On top of the list is the Liberty London Advent Calendar and just the once won't hurt, it's been sold out (in store and online), in just 3 days after being put on the market. No wonder! Look how pretty it was. And with plenty of full size products.

Selfridges, £120

Second on the list is the Selfridges Avent Calendar. Look how pretty it . It's got plenty of gorgeous beauty must-haves, from Lancôme, Yves-Saint-Laurent...

L'Occitane 49€

If you look for a cute French Advent Calendar, definitely go for L'Occitane. It's only 49€ (with a value of 84€) and all the products are worthwhile: body lotion, shampoo, soap...

Rituals, 79€
Special mention for the Rituals Advent Calendar in the shape of a Christmas tree. It's got everything from wipes to shower scrub, a mascara and a candle. A great way to discover the products of this company. I have never tasted their products yet but finding out that they are cruelty free, I might do so very soon.

Kiehl's 72€
The Kiehl's calendar contains 23 products selected amongst their award wining must haves and it's worth €200.

Diptyque, 350€

The Diptyque calendar brings together 25 miniatures including 15ml skin and body care, mini-candles in 35g format and one 70g candle, 10ml eau de toilette. Shame it's so expensive. I won't be able to afford it.

Jo Malone, 350€

Another expensive calendar is the Jo Malone, but it's absolutely gorgeous with its candles and colognes. Anyway, it's already sold out on the Jo Malone UK website. Really!

Dammann Frères, 22€
If you enjoy a nice cup of tea, as I do, I would recommend the Dammann Frères advent calendar. This picture doesn't show very well but the calendar is really nice and chic and there are 24 different flavors of tea and perfumed blends packaged in the iconic Cristal teabag. It's a good way to taste new flavors. I absolutely love it.

Lily's advent calendar, 12,40€

And what about this cute calendar for your little friend, in which you will find some nice organic treats. Isn't it cute ? It's on sale on Moustaches website

FIAC hors les murs 2017

Thank you to the organizers of the FIAC, the annual international art fair which takes place every October, in Paris, to set up the Hors les Murs (outdoor, in French) event. It's the opportunity for the general public to see major art pieces for free, in prestigious surroundings.

This year was no exception, as you can see on the pictures below, taken in the Tuilerie Gardens. The great thing this year was that besides each piece of art, there were students from the renowned Ecole du Louvre, talking about the art piece. Some of them had the chance to meet the artist before the event so they were able to explain precisely what the intention and conditions in which the artist made his artwork. It was a great idea.

Cour des Shadoks

Today, I walked past a beautiful courtyard, a few minutes away from Bastille, the "Cour des Shadoks" (Shadoks courtyard).

The courtyard has been named after a former resident, Jacques Rouxel, a man who created "The Shadoks", a very famous animated TV series from the 1970's.

As you will see from the pictures I took, the place is just peaceful and charming.

Daniel Brush

The School of Jewelry Arts is celebrating its fifth anniversary by introducing cultural exhibitions to its offering. The stunning work of the American artist Daniel Brush is exceptionally presented at L’ÉCOLE until October 31, 2017 and I had the chance to enjoy it today.

An assortment of collars from NECKS, a jeweler’s poetry book documenting 117 colliers de chien made for the book, are exhibited alongside a series of cuffs, all featuring unique combinations of steel, diamonds and other precious stones. In addition, large scale drawings, sculpture, and objets de vertu are presented to reveal this artist’s work. And it's stunning!

This is an unprecedented opportunity to preview an assortment of exceptional works. Brush’s creations demonstrate solitary thought, study and experimentation, resulting in a deeply expressive and intellectual force. From one of a kind wearable jewels to large scale drawings and sculptures, Brush’s work goes beyond traditional art categories, and demonstrates astonishing intricacy amidst a timeless aesthetic. Daniel Brush makes all his work with his own hands.

If you are in Paris, don't miss this installation; I loved it.
Until October 31st, 2017
31, rue Danielle Casanova, 75001 Paris.
Monday to Saturday, 2pm until 7pm (free)

ColorForever Marais

ColorForever in the Marais

Finally! I have found one!

Wondering what I am talking about? Well, I am talking about a good nail bar. 💅 I know, with all the nail bars around the city, it might sound a bit weird. But, up to now, I wasn't completely happy with the places I had tasted.

So, recently, I went to ColorForever near Saint-Paul, feeling a bit nervous not knowing if I would be disappointed again and, to my surprise, it was just the opposite; I was absolutely delighted. First of all, the place is bright, clean and very pleasant; you don't feel squeezed at all. And secondly, and certainly most important to me, the ladies working there are very friendly and beyond professional; they do an excellent job. I don't know about you, but these two criteria are key to me.

And not joke there, the nail polish lasts forever. It's been 10 days today that I had my nails painted with classic nail lacquer and it's still perfect! Usually to get such a result, I need to have a gel manucure.

So, would I recommend this boutique? Definitely Yes! 💅
