Today, I spent a glorious afternoon in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, on the occasion of the annual event Parcours Saint-Germain.

The idea is to present modern art pieces, in various venues of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. The event is both the opportunity to see nice pieces of art (sculptures, paintings...) and to discover new places. Indeed, the concept of presenting art in places as different as cafés, boutiques, hotels... is just amazing. It gives a different perspective to the artworks. I have been attending this event for many years now, and I must admit that I have always had a good time.

For instance, this year, in the chocolate boutique of Alain Ducasse, the objects of art fit so well in the setting that they seem to be part of it. I actually found out, talking to the shop assistant, that the pieces of art had been elaborated in close collaboration with Alain Ducasse. The two sculptures in the entrance for instance, are made out of metal and chocolate. It's so well done that at first sight, I honestly thought that the chocolate part were made of wood. The result is absolutely stunning! I loved it.

Altogether, it was fun and instructive. If you are in the area I would advise not to miss it. It's on until June 18th, 2017.
