Villa Vassilieff

Today, during my lunch break, I went to see Villa Vassilieff in Montparnasse. This art center, opened last February, is located in the cuttest green and peacefull alley. Villa Vassilieff used to be the workshop of Marie Vassilieff, a Russian artist who created an art academy there. Nowadays, Villa Vassilieff  is like a little Villa Medicis. Worldwide artists and art researchers are invited to stay there for three months, in order to share their experience and views, about the current and past history of Montparnasse. Temporary exhibitions are also presented in this lovely place where it's possible to enjoy a nice cup of coffee or tea.

21 avenue du Maine – 75015 Paris - Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm.

Buttes aux cailles

Today, I went to Buttes-aux-Cailles for the first time. I heard a lot about it but I never took the time to go there even though it's not that far from the center of Paris.

Buttes-aux-Cailles, which means "quail hill", is a district of South East Paris that takes its name from landowner, Pierre caille. It's very pleasant because it has managed to keep a village ambiance with a lot of bars and restaurant. It's also very famous for its street art, present in most of the streets.

I loved walking around along the small paved streets, searching for new pieces of street art.

Here are some of my pictures. Enjoy.
