Last evening, I went for a drink with a friend of mine in a very cool place and I absolutely wanted to tell you about it. It's on a barge, at the foot of Pont Louis Philippe (Louis Philippe bridge). Down there, there are actually three barges moored by the quay. All of them are great.
The Marcounet is the coolest one. It's been here for a while. In the summer, they feature concerts almost every night and it's very pleasant to sip a cocktail with good music, in a lovely atmosphere.
The next barge has opened at the beginning of the summer. It's called Les Maquereaux (mackerel in English). It's a sea food bar and it's meant to be opened until October. They offer a lot of sea products such as shellfish, fish but they also have more traditional dishes such as salads or charcuterie or cheese plates.
The last barge belongs to Bateaux de Paris. It's the one I went to yesterday. It's the closest to Pont Louis Philippe, and I never took the chance to try it before. Honestly, I really enjoyed it. There is plenty of space to seat and the tables for two are facing the river, which is just so romantic. We just had a drink but people around us had diner and it looked pretty good to me.
Anyway, whichever barge you choose, you will spent some good time; the spot is great, especially at the sunset.
