Cour Damoye

©Esther à Paris

Today, as I passed Bastille, I came accross a lovely private street I never noticed before.

It's called "Cour Damoye". It was laid out in 1780, by Antoine Pierre Damoye, an ironmonger. At the time, there were a lot of workshops in the courtyard. Nowadays, it's mostly communication agencies but there is also one of the most ancient coffee roasting plant of Paris which is still in business.

It's absolutely charming and I was surprised how quiet it was because Bastille is rather noisy. Here are some pictures I took for you.

Entrance : 12 place de la Bastille - 75011 Paris
